Tune in to our New Community Podcast

podcastWe are excited to announce the launch of the Deerfield Public Library Podcast! We’ll be releasing monthly episodes featuring conversations with dynamic Deerfield leaders, including business owners, elected officials, artists, educators, volunteers, and more.

Deerfield’s current Mayor, Harriet Rosenthal, is our feature interviewee this month. Mayor Rosenthal discusses her path from community volunteer to the Mayor’s seat and what makes her job particularly fulfilling. Bookending the conversation, librarian John fills us in on the details of our new board game collection – available for checkout now – and librarian Anne recommends The Last Kingdom by Bernard Cornwell.

You can listen to the podcast and find future episodes on our podcast page or by subscribing on iTunes, Stitcher Radio, or Google Play. Or listen to our first episode right here! We encourage listeners to send comments and feedback to podcast@deerfieldlibrary.org.

Mayor Rosenthal also shares some information on an upcoming volunteer project she spearheaded, Give Where You Live -Deerfield , to commemorate Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Here’s how you can help.

Monday, January 16, 2017

Volunteers are needed for a variety of service projects, appropriate for all ages, to collect and sort items, assemble gift bags, write letters and cards, and more.
