If you’re studying for finals, the Library has got you covered! We’re offering extended hours for DHS final exams. The extended hours are for students and “non-students” alike.
The extended hours are:
- Saturday, Jan. 13: 9 a.m.-9 p.m.
- Sunday, Jan. 14: 1-9 p.m.
We’ll also be open regular hours (9 a.m.-9 p.m.) on Monday, Jan. 15.
We have six study rooms available for use on our Lower Level, and two study rooms on the main level in our Youth Services Dept. These enclosed rooms can be checked out for a maximum of two hours and include whiteboards and markers for use.
Of course, the Library has resources aplenty to offer for those cramming for the big exams. Below, I’ve highlighted two of my faves for the studying teen.
|Brainfuse: This service offers free, live tutoring every day from 2-9 p.m. for Kindergarten – 12th grade, in addition to ACT, SAT and College Prep subjects. Perfect for Finals prepping!|
|Gale Virtual Reference Library: This database is a one-stop shop that offers content from encyclopedias and subject specialized references books. It pulls all of the material for you, including scholarly articles, citation tools, and images, and covers an impressive amount of subjects including art, science, history and much more.|
These and many more research tools can be found on our online resources page. The best part is, as long as you have a Deerfield Library card, any of the databases are free to use!
