Seth Schriftman, Treasurer
I have been a Library Board Trustee and a member of the Finance Committee since 2014, and am glad to be the Library’s Treasurer. I received my J.D. and LL.M. in Taxation degrees from Temple University Beasley School of Law and have spent the last seven years working as an attorney in Chicago. I am currently a Special Assistant Attorney General in the Department of Revenue.
I live in Deerfield with my wife Ashley, Director of Congregational learning at Congregation Solel, and our young children Noah and Molly.
I enjoy painting and spending time with my family, which often includes a trip to the library. The library staff has continuously given us great recommendations for what books our children would most enjoy, and we have participated in many of the library’s fun family programs and trivia nights.
I believe the library is a fantastic resource supported by you – our Deerfield community. I am glad to be involved with my fellow Trustees in ensuring that we continuously provide the best that the Deerfield Library has to offer.

Michael K. Goldberg
I grew up in Glenview and have lived in Deerfield since 1999, with my wife Kelly (a teacher at Bannockburn Elementary School) and our children Daniel and Isabella. I am an attorney, avid reader, and frequent Deerfield Library user. My hobbies include hockey, golf and attending my kid’s activities. I love to read the weekend book reviews and then drop by or call the library during the week to request the purchase of the books that I want to read. I believe that the library must remain a vibrant part of the community, and I am grateful to have the opportunity to continue to serve as a Trustee.
