Bob Dylan The Complete Basement Tapes Music Discussion
Wednesday, April 8, 7:00pm.

Last year “The Complete Basement Tapes” was picked by many critics as the most important and best reissue of 2014. In the program, we’ll listen to and talk about this landmark recording. Although it was recorded in the summer of 1967 many of these tracks have not been heard for the first time until now. We’ll also examine¬†the original 1975 Basement Tapes release and how it is different from the reissue. Finally, we will discuss¬†how this album changed popular music and the lasting impact it has had.

The Basement Tapes were recorded during a pivotal moment in Bob Dylan’s life and we’ll talk about his legacy as an artist as well. Our music discussions are informal and a lot of fun. We’ll listen to some of the songs together, talk about Bob Dylan’s life at the time and the background of the songs. Audience members are welcome to participate in the discussion or you can just listen and learn some fun new things about Bob Dylan. So please join us as we talk and discuss one of the greatest artists in the history of American music.

Stay until the end to have a chance to win a copy of the six CD “Complete Basement Tapes” reissue.
