Beginning Monday, June 1, the Library will accept returns in bins in the Library parking lot on the north side (front) of the building. Right now, we have almost 21,000 physical items from our collection checked out.
In order to collect the materials safely, we will accept returns on the following days and times:
- Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
- Tuesday, Thursday: 4 – 6 p.m.
We will place bins near our book drops in our parking lot. You will be able to drop in your materials without exiting your car. Please return only materials that you’ve checked out from the Deerfield Public Library. Staff will practice social distancing and will not be able to take items from cars. This process will continue weekly until further notice.
Based on recommendations of the Institute of Museum and Library Services, we will quarantine returned items for seven (7) days. In turn, your account won’t reflect that you’ve returned the items right away.
Due to the volume of material being returned, all items currently checked out will be automatically renewed to June 30, 2020.
Library staff remains committed to assisting the community. Right now, our programming remains virtual. At this time, we are unable to accept book donations.
We expect to begin to offer Curbside Pickup in June. Details on the procedures will be available at a later date. We will post information on the Library’s website and social media, and will share via our e-newsletter. The building remains closed to the public until further notice. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time.
