We are proud to announce our first Read & Walk beginning on Saturday, June 5. Read & Walk is a fun, educational activity that you and your child can do at your leisure at whatever time you like. Read & Walk encourages healthy activity and learning all at once for the whole family. It also shows children how much fun reading can be!
The first Read & Walk features the book I Got the Rhythm by Connie Schofield-Morrison. As you walk along the path, you will find early learning literacy tips you can do as you read. Maybe you and your child will find your own rhythm and dance down the path, or perhaps you and your child will be on the lookout for all the different animals in the park. These are a few of the tips you can find as you Read & Walk.
Ready to get started? You’ll find a sign at the top of the stairs leading to Jewett Park. Just go down the stairs, follow the Read & Walk signs on your right and you will find yourselves immersed in a magical story!
The first Read & Walk will be up for three months. Be sure to tell us how much you enjoyed your Read & Walk adventure! At the end of the story, you will find a QR code that you can snap on your phone and fill out a quick survey. This will help us to know if you would like future Read & Walks. We also would like to see pictures of you and your family at Read & Walk!
We would like to thank Deerfield Park District for its partnership and enthusiasm on this project.
