In a previous post, we described how our patrons can renew library materials online, but did you know we offer several other options for renewals?
You can renew in person at library by presenting your library card or the item you would like to renew to the assistant at the Information Desk. If the item is eligible for renewal, the assistant will inform you of your new due date.
You can renew at the Self-Check Station. After scanning the barcode on your library card, touch “Go to Account” then touch “Items Out.”
You will see a list of all the items you have checked out. Touch the box to the left of the items you wish to renew, then touch “Renew Selected.” Or you can touch “Select All” to renew all of your items.
If your renewals are successful, you will be informed of your new due dates. Please keep in mind that not all items will be eligible for renewal. New Feature Films, Lucky Duck Books, Rokus, and items on hold for other patrons cannot be renewed. You will be notified of unsuccessful renewals with the following message:
You can call the library at 847-945-3311 during open hours. The assistant will ask for your barcode or for your name and address to make sure we are accessing the correct account. As with renewing in person, if the item is eligible for renewal, the assistant will inform you of your new due date.
You can renew using the Deerfield Public Library App. If you have the app on a smartphone, you can renew by first accessing your account and selecting “Check Out”.
Tap on the item you wish to renew. You will be prompted to confirm your request to renew the item by tapping on it again.
If your request is successful, your list of borrowed items will be updated to reflect the new due date. If another patron has placed a hold on the item, however, the app will indicate that your renewal was not successful.
