We’re excited to launch our second episode of the Deerfield Public Library Podcast with Vicki Street. Each month we’ll be releasing an episode featuring conversations with dynamic Deerfield leaders, including business owners, elected officials, artists, educators, volunteers, and more!
This month, our feature interview is with with Vicki Street, Executive Director of the Deerfield Bannockburn Riverwoods Chamber of Commerce. We discuss the Chamber’s role in the community, Vicki’s tips for business owners, the Chamber’s recent trip to Cuba, and growing up in Deerfield. We also briefly discuss some local history, referencing a 1939 speech by a Deerfield librarian to the Woman’s Club about the Chamber donation that started the Library. Learn more here.
Bookending the conversation, Outreach Coordinator Judy Hoffman tells us about the upcoming food drive for the West Deerfield Township Food Pantry (donate in the Library lobby between March 1-22) and Teen librarian Nina Michael recommends the memoir Ugly by Robert Hoge.
