It takes a Village to create a great Village library, and the first leaves on the new Giving Tree help tell that story. The Giving Tree, an initiative of the Library Board of Trustees, is a non-monetary recognition, which honors individuals and organizations that have made lasting contributions to the advancement of the Deerfield Public Library.
The first group of honorees will be recognized at a public reception at the Library on Thursday, March 9, 5:00-6:30 p.m., with a brief ceremony beginning at 5:15 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.
The inaugural Giving Tree honorees are:
Susan Benn, past Library Trustee
Friends of the Deerfield Public Library
Jack Hicks, past Library Director
Laurie Leibowitz, Library Advocate
Peggy McCabe, past Library Staff
Bernice Mitkey, Library Volunteer
Mary Pergander, past Library Director
Bill Seiden, past Library Trustee and current Village liaison to the Library Board
