With Thanksgiving right around the corner, November is a great time to reflect on what we are grateful for. There is nothing like a thankful tree to truly capture the spirit of the season.
This craft is a good time to sit down with your child and discuss what they are grateful for and why. It can be as simple as a special someone’s name, as complex as democracy, or as funny as toilet paper! As you talk, your child or you can write down one thing that they are grateful for on a leaf provided in the craft bag. Once all the leaves are filled out, your child can then glue each leaf to the tree provided. Instructions are provided in the craft bag.
Use the tree as a centerpiece for your Thanksgiving dinner or display your kids’ handiwork with style in a vase or a pot.
The library has an abundance of books on gratitude in our catalog for you to check out or put on hold.
Kits are available Monday, November 9 through Sunday, November 15, while supplies last, during browsing hours at the Youth Services Desk.
