Mini Pumpkin String Art
Kit Includes: 2 coasters, 2 colors of embroidery floss, 1 paper template, 1 set of eye stickers, 1 bag with about 28 push pins wrapped in a tissue.
Instructions:
- Stack the coasters (you need both so you can push in the pins without worrying about them poking through the other side).
- You can use the template as a guide. I used it to mark a tissue and positioned it over my coasters.
- Push the pins into your coaster at approximately where the dots are (but feel free to adjust as needed). Don’t push them in all the way! You need room to wrap the string around. If you used the tissue as a guide you can then gently rip the tissue away.
- Time to start stringing! I began with the pumpkin body first and then did the stem.
- Tie one end of the embroidery floss onto a pin and begin crisscrossing around the push pins any way you like. Cut off any extra you don’t want and don’t forget to tie off the end so it doesn’t unravel. Repeat for the stem.
- Once you’re done with the string wrapping you can push the pins in further to secure them and the string in place.
There you have it – a mini string art pumpkin! - Optional: You can turn it into a jack-o-lantern using stickers and cutting shapes to glue on and create a face.
