We are excited to announce that the Deerfield Public Library will be working in collaboration with multiple area libraries to bring to you another exciting virtual event: An Evening with Madeline Miller Thursday, March 3 from 7-8 p.m.!
Deerfield Public Library staff favorite, Madeline Miller, is one of the leaders in Greek retellings, a New York Times bestselling author, and an Orange Prize for Fiction winner. She will be joining us to discuss her works, The Song of Achilles and Circe.
Curious about what makes an award-winning, bestselling author tick? Upon registration, feel free to ask Madeline one of your burning questions that, time permitting, could be read by one of the evening’s moderators.
Madeline Miller’s first novel, The Song of Achilles, was awarded the 2012 Orange Prize for Fiction and was a New York Times bestseller. Her second novel, Circe, was an instant #1 New York Times bestseller. Before she was a novelist, Madeline Miller earned her BA and MA in Classics from Brown University, and she taught and tutored Latin, Greek, and Shakespeare to high school students for more than fifteen years. Her novels have been translated into over twenty-five languages, and her essays have appeared in The Guardian, The Wall Street Journal, Lapham’s Quarterly, and on npr.org.
Register today to secure your spot. A recording will be made available for a total of two weeks following the live event.
This program is presented in partnership with multiple Illinois libraries.
