Black Kid Joy! Books Celebrating the Black Experience

“There is Black struggle, but there is Black joy. Black joy is resistance.” –Patia Braithwaite

There are many beautiful picture books featuring strong, smart, funny, and delightful BIPOC kids. Stories featuring kids of color don’t all need to be about racism and societal pressures, and it’s important to read books that also highlight the joys of being Black and proud. These charming stories draw from the real world around them. They will have you rooting for the characters, make you laugh at the kids’ antics, and leave you smiling from ear to ear.

You will fall in love with this adorably sweet story that celebrates natural hair and features a daddy-daughter relationship that will warm your heart.
