If you’re looking for something different to do this Valentine’s Day, why not head over to the Library and take part in the Blind Date with a Book event that runs through the month of February. This is our third year in what has become a patron favorite event!
Here’s how it works: Each year our savvy Librarians, whose job it is to know the best-of-the-best reads in the Library’s collection, select the books for the program keeping in mind book length, genre variety and just plain ‘ole good reads. We then wrap the books in pink and red paper, include a ‘Rate Your Date’ card in each and put them out for display. Patrons then ‘select a date’, check it out, unwrap and read.
When you have finished, complete your ‘Rate Your Date’ card and return it to the Library’s Adult Services desk by February 28 to be entered into our drawing. The winner receives a dinner for two at Biaggi’s Restaurant.
We get a lot of wonderful comments and feedback from our patrons about this program, but the one we hear most often is, “I never would have chosen this book, but I really enjoyed it!” And that’s beauty of the program: the serendipity of discovering a new genre, author, or even the best blind date you’ve ever had!
