Reading has always been important to my family and friends, and as a kid I loved bringing books on vacation, listening to audiobooks on road trips, and turning books into plays that my cousins and I would perform for everyone in our basement or backyard! My favorites were anything by Judy Blume or James Herriot, comics, and folktales.

As a full-time elementary school librarian, the best part of my day is when I get to talk to kids about the books they are reading, and share suggestions for what they could read next. What’s so great is that they give me suggestions, too! When I get to help for a few hours at the Youth Services desk here at DPL, I love seeing kids from my school and other students from the area.

I enjoy books that make me laugh, stories about dogs, and spooky mysteries. I can’t leave out nonfiction, especially memoirs and important events in history. I also listen to a lot of audiobooks during my daily commute. For me there really ARE so many books and so little time.
