Are you having trouble keeping track of what items are checked out to your account? Do you need help keeping track of due dates? Are you on the go and then suddenly remember that you need to renew a book that’s due?
Good news! The Deerfield Public Library has a smartphone app to make managing your account convenient. The app is a free download, available both through the App Store and Google Play.
Once the app is installed, you can check your account to see what items are checked out to you and when they are due. Simply touch “My Account” on the home screen, then enter your name and your library barcode. Once you’ve accessed your account, you can see the due dates for any items you have borrowed. To request a renewal for an item, simply touch the title of the item, and the app will give you the option of renewing it (please note, however, that not all items are renewable, such as new videos, items that have already been renewed twice, or any items that have holds on them).
The app has a number of other features as well. You can choose to search the library catalog and request holds for items. Did you see a copy of a book at a bookstore and wonder if we have a copy available for you to borrow? The BookLook feature will allow you to scan the ISBN barcode of a book and see if we have a copy ready for you. Also, the app provides an easy way to get in touch with us. Choosing the “ask us” option allows you to call, text or email us right away, while choosing the “hours and location” option will allow you to see when we’re open.
