eNewsletter Update! Combining Three Into One

email 2517420 640 1If you’ve ever had one of those moments where you thought, “I didn’t know that program was being offered at the Library,” or “I didn’t know about that Library resource,” you’re not alone. We often get feedback from patrons wanting to know the best way to stay “in the know” on Library happenings because they missed something. Our response is always to, of course, check Browsing, our print newsletter, but also to subscribe to our monthly eNewsletters. Many of these same patrons, however, were already subscribed to one or more DPL eNewsletter.

What we began to realize is: 1) Patrons who subscribe to multiple DPL eNewsletters, receiving more than one each month, assume they’re getting duplicate information and only open one of the emails; and 2) Patrons who only subscribe to one DPL eNewsletter are sometimes missing out on information in the other eNewsletters that would be of interest to them.

In an effort to be responsive to our patrons and find the best way to share information about the Library, we are combining our eNewsletters into one email that includes featured programs for both Youth and Adults, as well as Library News. Our new Library Programs and News eNewsletter will be sent once a month.

Some benefits of switching to one, combined eNewsletter:

  • Patrons will only receive one Library email each month.
  • Having all the content in one email allows patrons to easily scroll through and potentially see items of interest they might have otherwise missed.
  • Navigation for each section of the eNewsletter will be at the top of the email for patrons only interested in seeing specific content.

So, what now? If you’re already subscribed to any of our eNewsletters (Youth Programs, Adult Programs, and/or Library News), you don’t have to do a thing! You’ll remain on our list and begin receiving the combined eNewsletter in November. If you’re NOT currently receiving any DPL eNewsletters, click here to subscribe and stay up-to-date on programs, news, resources, and more.
