The Deerfield Public Library will be collecting food, and home and personal products in March for the West Deerfield Township Food Pantry. The Pantry serves over 250 township residents each month who find themselves in need, either on a long-term or temporary basis.
Donations can be dropped off in the shopping cart, courtesy of Whole Foods Market, in the Library’s lobby, through March 22. Donated items must be non-perishable, and should not have passed the expiration date.
For last year’s Food Drive, the interest and generosity of our community was beyond expectations. There was the equivalent of 24 shopping carts of donations delivered to the Food Pantry!
The Food Pantry Wish List includes:
- Canned protein (beans, tuna, chicken, salmon, beans)
- Lunchbox-friendly foods
- Canned fruit (small size)
- Soup
- Peanut butter
- Laundry detergent (small size)
- Toilet paper
- Paper towels
All items distributed by the Food Pantry are donated by neighbors and area businesses, and sorting, shelving , and bagging are all done by volunteers. For more information about assistance, donations, or volunteering, call the Township office at 847-945-0614, or visit during any business day at 601 Deerfield Road, Deerfield.
