A facade of skyscrapers facing a lake and behind the facade, every type of dubiousness.

Amateur sleuths look no further! The Deerfield Public Library’s new series, Crime Time, starts this fall and will feature a diverse blend of lectures, discussions, and book talks. On October 20, we will kick everything off by welcoming Rich Lindberg, author of Return to the Scene of the Crime: A Guide to Infamous Places in Chicago. Rich will walk us through some of the most infamous crimes in Chicago’s history, including gangsters, serial killers, and crimes of passion.
Rich, a lifelong Chicagoan, has authored over 17 books and has been researching Chicago history for over 30 years. He has been featured on several TV crime shows, including History’s Mysteries, Cities of the Underworld, Justice Files, and American Justice. He has also been a guest on NPR and WGN Radio.
Crime Time is a great opportunity to ponder crime and criminals with like-minded neighbors. It is bound to be a fascinating time for all! Register here for ‘Return to the Scene of the Crime’ on October 20 from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m., and prepare to be taken back in time to the rough and tumble streets of historical Chicago – where scandal and intrigue were a way of life.
