As parents of young children, we have all navigated a variety of issues. Remember sleep training? Did you use Ferber or Weissbluth? Introducing vegetables? Broccoli, meet floor! The potty? To bribe or not to bribe, that is the question. If you’re like me, you probably consulted books here at the Library for help with getting through those somewhat stressful times. Now, you might be looking ahead to the next hurdle on the horizon: early childhood education. Once again, you can turn to the Library for answers to your questions.
On January 28, 2016, the Deerfield Public Library will host its second annual Preschool and Early Childhood Fair from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. We are fortunate to have a variety of wonderful preschools, day care centers, and early childhood enrichment programs here in Deerfield and the surrounding areas. The Fair will give you the opportunity to visit information tables representing a wide assortment of those organizations. You are welcome to drop by anytime, with or without your children. Representatives from each facility will be available to answer your questions and to discuss their programs and philosophies.
The first 100 attendees to the Fair will receive a free gift from the Library! In addition, the Library will host an informational table on early literacy and getting your child ready to read.
If you have any questions regarding the fair, please feel free to contact Kary Henry, Preschool Outreach Coordinator, at khenry@deerfieldlibrary.org.
