Our outdoor services – returns, curbside pickup, and grab-and-go crafts – have been hugely popular, which is gratifying. We have taken all necessary steps to prioritize the safety and health of our staff, patrons, and the greater community. With careful planning, we are ready to introduce additional services.
We know that there are people in our community who depend on us for access to technology, so our first service allowing patrons inside will be for use of our public computers. Following are our latest service updates:
- Computer use: By appointment only. To pre-book a 1-hour session, Deerfield Public Library cardholders can schedule their sessions online or by phone, 847-945-3311. Patrons are limited to one appointment per day.
- The use of masks and physical distancing will be required to enter and use the computers. Between computer sessions, staff will clean and disinfect the computer equipment, tables, and chairs.
- Returns and Curbside Pickup: The hours of operation have been expanded to Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 10 a.m.-1 p.m. and Tuesday, Thursday: 4-7 p.m. Learn more details on the process.
- Coming soon: Browse inside and do self-checkout of books and other materials. There will be limits on how many people are allowed in the building, and also the amount of time for your visits. More on that to follow.
At this time, we are unable to accept book donations.
