Below are the instructions for September 2024 Grab & Go kits! Grab one only in the Youth Department at the Library. While supplies last.

Sunflower Craft
Teach kids the importance of being kind with this Sunflower craft kit. Kids can list all the ways to be nice while making the faux flower craft to hang on display for all to see!
Instructions for the Grades 1-4 activity are in each kit.
Jellyfish Light
Supplies included in kit:
- 15 pipe cleaners
- 1 set of LED fairy lights
- 1 ~40 inch piece of ribbon
Supplies needed:
- Scissors
- Pen, pencil, marker or chopstick (to curl tentacles around)
Optional additional supplies:
- Chalk pastels or eyeshadow to add more color
- Needle nose pliers (to bend pipe cleaners easier)

With a few changes:
- There are 6 pipe cleaners to be tentacles and the “bell” needs 1 for the bottom, 7 for the the main part, and 1 to cinch the top with. (See images below)
2. Instead of tucking the ends of the pipe cleaner used to cinch the top, use one end to make a hanging loop above the jellyfish and the other to make a loop inside the bell.
Use the inside loop to affix the tentacles to the bell
3. Cut the ribbon in half and tie each piece centered on the inner loop.
Tips:
- Take the cinching step slowly to make the loops lie nicely
- Connect the bottom “rim” before cinching the top (this makes it a little easier to shape as you go.
- Bend and shape the bell before making loops and/or adding tentacles
