On late Tuesday, September 15, 2020, the Library was notified of a known exposure of COVID-19 at Deerfield Public Library between September 9-11, 2020.
Based on the recommendations of the Illinois Department of Public Health, we were not required to close, and notification of this low-risk exposure to staff and the public was recommended. We have been informed that the person is now in isolation. Federal privacy laws prohibit releasing any additional information about the positive case.
On Wednesday, September 16, 2020, the Library performed a sanitization service before the building opened to the public.
Deerfield Public Library continues to follow the recommendations of local health authorities. Remember that wherever you go, you should always follow public health guidelines – the 3 Ws – to reduce your risk of getting and spreading COVID-19:
- Wear a mask
- Wash your hands
- Watch your distance
